While some names have not yet made the top 10 names list, there are many still quickly gaining traction.

Tusla, the second most populous city in Oklahoma, has become a quickly growing name for girls: increasing 400% in popularity from 2020 to 2022. Close behind, Venezia, the Italian name for Venice, increased 350%.

Other city-inspired girl names gaining popularity include:

  • Sedona: 245.1% increase
  • Larissa: 214.7% increase
  • Portland: 187.5% increase

The capital city of Norway, Oslo, is being used as an American baby boy name and increased 326.3% in popularity from 2020-2022. And at almost half of it's growth, York, increased 180%

  4. Virginia: 569 baby girls were named Virginia
  5. Montana: 184 baby girls were named Montana
  6. Jersey (New): 141 baby girls were named Jersey
  7. Indiana: 111 baby girls were named Indiana
  8. Arizona: 108 baby girls were named Arizona
  9. Alaska: 102 baby girls were named Alaska
  10. Nevada: 48 baby girls were named Nevada
