British Regency Baby Names Inspired by 'Bridgerton'

Gentle reader, you're going to burn for these baby names inspired by the cast of characters in Bridgerton. Swoon.

It seems like more than a safe bet that Colin, Penelope, Eloise, and Kate might shoot up the baby name charts next year. Why? Because Bridgerton, the Netflix show based on the popular book series written by Julia Quinn, is back and more royal than ever.

Unlike some recent pop culture phenomena that inspired baby names (hello, Game of Thrones), choosing a Bridgerton baby name won't be quite so blatantly obvious. After all, the character names are among the most classic names out there.

But if you want to be a little subtle about your baby name inspiration (and don't want your son to be the third Anthony in his class), instead of choosing a name straight out of Bridgerton, opt for a name inspired by your favorite character. We tallied up our favorite Bridgerton baby name trends here!

(P.S. You get extra credit if you give your kids alphabetically arranged baby names, like the Bridgertons, or stick with the same initial, like the Featheringtons.)

Very British Baby Names

It's no surprise that a Regency-era novel set in Britain used a lot of names that we'd identify as particularly British.
